Teenage Car Insurance

Reader Question: How can I get car insurance for my 17 year old teenage driver?
This is a good question indeed! A 17-year-old teenage driver, is not considered a legal adult and is therefore not legally able to enter into a binding contract. Although in my opinion they are certainly old enough to drive a car on public streets.
I would suspect that most auto insurance providers will require a parent or legal gaurdian signature on the contract and to be financially responsible.
You might want to start your search by making phone calls to your local insurance providers for rate quotes but I really don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to get coverage though. Now at what price this coverage may come with may be another issue altogether.
You probably should contact your state motor insurance bureau or Department of Motor Vehicles and see what if any restrictions there could be for a 17 year old to own a car and to to have get it insured in your state. Godo luck with your 17 year old car insurance
